Sellina, Dede's friend.
She greeted and I responded. Then she handed over a well covered bowl and said my boss said she should give it to me.
I didn't see what was inside but my sensitive nose can capture the scent of jollof rice (my favorite) even if it is a mile away from me, how much more when it is just an inch away from my nose?
I was very happy inside but Sellina became an obstacle. I was hoping she will leave after delivering the package successfully but I was so so wrong because she didn't intend leaving.
Don't get me wrong. Its not that I'm stingy or something. The truth is I can't eat when somebody I hardly know is standing near me. Even when I was in school, I don't eat until school closes.
I was just sitting down and she wanted my attention so I have to give her my attention. She thought she has found just the perfect time to get a new friend but with me, I can't tell whether her timing is bad or good.
She could see that I wasn't ready to talk so she decided to do all the talking then I, on the other hand will do the listening and answering. I was not comfortable at all but about 5 minutes into the conversation, I felt that she is really a cool girl.
That girl, I swear she can tame a hungry angry lion. I can't tell you the whole conversation but she is very sociable. I even forgot that I was hungry.
It was within that period that I realised, a timid guy like me can talk a lot. She was suppose to do all the talking then I do the listening and answering but it turned the opposite. We talked and talked until evening around 4PM when she told me she was going to prepare dinner.
Then she left and I decided to eat. Then few minutes later after eating, I decided to start parking because the shop was so boring that day. Then my boss came in and I thanked him for the food. Then he told me to go and thank Sellina instead because she used her money to buy me the food. I was just confused but I kept it cool.
In the evening when I was about to close the shop, she came for her bowl and I seized that opportunity to Thank her for the treat.
I was so happy building such a relationship with her. Hope you are not thinking about what you are thinking right now.
I was just liking her but not loving her. My perfect picture was still intact.
On my way to the lorry station, it happened that Sellina was also walking to the same direction so we had to walk together.
Guess who we met.....
